EUROSAF Match Racing, European Championships, 2013
EUROSAF announce the Notice of Race for the Women’s European Match Racing Championship, to be held in Gdynia, Poland, plus the addition of a new event for European Universities.

EUROSAF is delighted to announce the publication of the Notice of Race for the EUROSAF Match Racing, Women’s European Championship, which is to be incorporated within the Volvo Gdynia Sailing Days, in Gdynia, Poland, from 17th to 21st July. Applications for entries for this ISAF Grade 2 event are invited from all interested sailors and EUROSAF Member National Authorities. Entries close on 15th June, 2013. Notice of Race published at www.eurosaf.org

Joining the Women’s Championships this year are three other match racing events, the long established European Open Championship, the Youth European Championship (under 23 on 31st December 2103) and a brand new event, the EUROSAF University Sailing, European Match Racing Championship.

The University Championship is to be held on Largo di Ledro, in Trento, Italy and takes place from 28th to 30th June. This event is open to teams from universities across Europe. There is already considerable interest from several countries, including Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia and the United Kingdom, so with entries limited to twelve teams, and a maximum two teams from each country, competition for places is fierce. Competitors need to be between the ages of 17 and 28 on 1st January 2013 and each crew will be of mixed gender. This championship will be an ISAF Grade 3 event. The Notice of Race is published at www.eurosaf.org
or http://www.avll.it/calendar

With the new University Championship, EUROSAF now organise four European Match Racing Championships each year. This additional event illustrates the commitment of EUROSAF to the future of match racing in Europe, by adding another championship event for the younger sailor.

The dates and venues for all EUROSAF Match Racing Championships in 2013 are:

• Open European Championship - 28th May to 2nd June, St Petersburg, Russia
