Womens Rankings
Lucy Macgregor (GBR) reclaimed the World #1 spot in the Womens Rankings after she finished second at both the New York Womens Invitational in Oyster Bay, USA and the Lysekil Womens Match in Sweden.
Macgregors performances on the inaugural Womens International Match Race Series (www.wimrs.com) were consistent and culminated in her taking the first title, sealing it with her runners up spot in Lysekil. Her steady run of results also ensured a return to the top of the Womens Rankings for the first time since 6 July 2011 having played second fiddle to Anna Tunnicliffe (USA) all throughout 2012 and early 2013.
Lotte Meldgaard Pedersen (DEN) put together a run of three consecutive podium finishes in July and August with a second place at the Stena Match Cup Sweden Womens Trophy in Marstrand, Sweden, a third at the New York Womens Invitational and a second place at the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final. All three were ISAF Grade 1 events which promotes the Dane up to World #4 from World #22.
Defeating the Dane on her home waters in Middelfart, Denmark at the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final in an epic finale was Brazils Juliana Senfft.
Having gone two races down the Brazilian fought back hard to claw the tie level before taking the deciding race to clinch the Nations Cup title and the full points in the ISAF Grade 1 regatta. The result maintains Senffts spot at World #12.
Lysekil Womens Match victor Camilla Ulrikkeholm (DEN) drops out of top spot and into World #2.
Stephanie Robles (USA) Stena Match Cup victory and fourth at the New York Invitational moves her up a spot to World #6, a personal best.
Swedens Anna Kjellberg took the New York honours to climb from World #8 to World #5, a best ranking to date for the Swede.
