World Sailing Match Race Rankings - 22 June 2016
The World Sailing Match Race rankings have been released and Taylor Canfield (ISV) has returned to the top of the Open section while Camilla Ulrikkeholm Kinkby (DEN) retains #1 in the womens.
Canfield was last top of the Open rankings in June 2015 with big rival Ian Williams (GBR) finally succumbing to the pressure Canfield has been putting on the Briton in recent World Match Racing Tour events.
Canfield beat Williams in the Newport leg of the World Match Racing Tour in the semifinal stage which aided his rise to the top.
Recently crowned Youth World Match Racing champion, Australias William Dargaville moves up to #27 from #49 thanks to his win in Noumea, New Caledonia.
Ulrikkeholm Klinkby holds the #1 spot in the womens division by just 15 points from nearest rival Anne Claire Le Berre (FRA). Anna Kjellberg Ostling (SWE) is third in the rankings.
Next week sees the first event of the 2016 Womens International Match Racing Series (WIM Series - www.wimseries.com) with the inaugural Helsinki Womens Match so there may be movement in the womens rankings next month.
