Patience reigned in Calpe´ s racing area due to the lack of wind.
There was a highest expectancy on what it could happen in the second racing day. The second place was shared by Claire Leroy, Lotte Meldgaard, Silke Hahlbrock and Sabrina Guorioli but the wind conditions forced to start the competition after 3 p.m.
The Italian Sabrina Gorioli, who competed against the Spanish Adriana Romano, won the first match clearly leading the race since the start was given. The second match was disputed between the Australians Katie Spithill and Amanda Scrivenor. Although Amanda overcame the second stage, she was penalized and Katie stood out since the first one.
On the third match there was a really tough third start because since the beginning Camila Ulrikkeholm tried to penalize her opponent the Spanish Marga Cameselle. Camila in a safe leeward position had the right, the two firsts attempts were rejected by the umpires. On the third attempt Cameselle didn’t give room to Camila and the umpires finally penalized her. Ulrikkeholm´s confidence during the start was crucial for the race result, because the Spanish crew with a penalty and a bad starting position didn’t have possibilities to catch up during the match.
Alter a day with a one knot wind that only allowed doing one of the 7 programmed races, at 4 p.m. the regatta was over with a postponement on H. The lack of wind forced to modify the competition format. The organisation foresees finishing all the round robins and next the semi-finals with the four best classified crews.
