Rolex Women’s Match

The match racing clinic, led by sailing icon Betsy Alison, herself a former world champion in the sport, concluded today. Having heard a wealth of information on boat set-up, sail trim and match racing tactics, the forty sailors ventured forth on Tampa Bay to practice what they had learned.

Under cloudless skies with brilliant sunshine the race committee was able to complete five flights of five races each. The wind was from the northwest and very shifty. The velocity averaged twelve knots with peak gusts to twenty knots. Racing continues tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 0900.
