Troia Portugal Women’s Cup 2009 - Final

Three victories in a row gave Marie Bjorling undisputed victory on her debut at Troia Portugal Women’s Cup, with 17 victories in 18 races. The Swedish skipper divided the Sado’s race course with fellow-countrywoman Karin Hagstrom, and dominated each of the races even having incurred a penalty during the prestart manoeuvres in two of the matches. "Those were very competitive flights against Karin, vice-champion of last year’s northern championship", said Marie Bjorling, who is now preparing for the world match racing championship to be held in Lysekil, Sweden from 26 July thru 1 August.

Sun Sailing Team, the organising company said that this year’s edition was the best ever held here in Troia, because the resort of Sonae Turismo, one of the sponsors is almost finished as well as the Marina, which brought a very pleasant environment for the welcome of the international skippers. "Next year’s Troia Portugal Match Cup will be at it’s height", said Justino Sa Machado adding that as of September he will study the best timing for next year’s edition together with the directors of the World Match Racing Tour International Circuit.The Final Results from Troia Portugal Womens Cup:
