Friedrichshafen, Germany – International top yachtswomen like Denmark’s Lotte Meldgarrd from Denmark (2nd in the world ranking list) Germany’s Silke Hahlbrock (4th in the world ranking list), Christelle Phillippe (7th in the world ranking list) or Britain’s Gemma Farrell (11th in the world ranking list) are ready to set sail at the third INTERBOOT Ladies Match Cup from 26th to 30th September 2007 in Friedrichshafen. This event has been valued at the highest level, namely grade 1, which in the meantime, is regarded as the top event in ladies match racing in Germany.
Some of the best women sailors in the world will be testing their skills at the Ladies Match Cup at Lake Constance during the Friedrichshafen water sport exhibition, the INTERBOOT (22nd to 30th September 2007). Eight teams will be competing for a total of € 10,000 prize money – for the first time on yachts in the Bavaria Match 35 class, each with five crew members. For five days, the spectators on land will be able to experience the manoeuvres of the teams at close range. Yacht editor, Christoph Schumann will be commentating the match races on the scene so that both sailors and non-sailors can follow the action.
Many international top yachtswomen have registered; the names include Lotte Meldgarrd from Denmark (2nd in the world ranking list), Silke Hahlbrock from Germany (4th in the world ranking list), Christelle Phillippe from France (7th) as well as Gemma Farrell (11th) and Josie Gibson (12th) from Great Britain. Delphine Casa (21st)will try to defend her title from 2006 and Madlen Frey will be given a wild card to represent the Lake Constance Region and the colours of Yacht Club Langenargen e.V.
