ISAF World Match Race Rankings
The leaders of the current ISAF World Match Race Rankings remain unchanged but the chasing pack are applying pressure and closing the gap.
Current Open World Match Race Champion Adam Minoprio (NZL) has had his lead narrowed as has Lucy Macgregor (GBR) in the Womens Rankings.
Womens Rankings
Lucy Macgregor (GBR) retains the top spot in the Womens ISAF World Match Race Rankings but her lead is been eroded by Claire Leroy of France. Despite finishing a lowly eighth at the ISAF Sailing World Cup regatta in Kiel, Macgregor did however finish third at Match Cup Sweden Womens Trophy in Marstrand. Claire Leroy finished Kieler Woche as runner up in a long draw out regatta in light airs. She was defeated by Ekaterina Skudina of Russia who has been the big mover of this rankings release. Skudina also won Match Cup Sweden Womens Trophy to jump from #22 to #11.
Anna Tunnicliffe continues to stride up the rankings from sixth to third only eight points ahead of current Womens Match Racing Champion Nicky Souter (AUS). Tunnicliffe finished third at Kieler Woche as opposed to Souters ninth.
Renee Groeneveld (NED) gains four places moving to #8. Goeneveld was beaten in the final of Match Cup Sweden Womens Trophy in Marstrand. Another key mover is Silja Lehtinen (FIN) who remained unbeaten in the preliminary rounds at Kieler Woche but finished in seventh place in the finals. Lehtinen also won the Swedish Championship for women in Malmo propelling her from #20 to #15 in the new rankings.
Petra Kliba (CRO) climbs from #35 to #23 scoring points for a third place at the Berlin Womens Match Race won by Katie Archer of Great Britain. Archer gains 20 places jumping from #50 to #30, as well as winning in Berlin she also finished third at the Swedish Championship for women in Malmo.
