It is time to nominate and elect the 2010 Governing Council and Officers of the Women’s International Match Racing Association. The nomination period is now open and the elections will occur either at the WIMRA Annual Meeting will be held at the 2010 ISAF Women’s Match Racing World Championship in Newport, RI, USA between the 20th and 25th of September 2010 (exact date and time yet to be determined)) or on-line prior to that meeting.

You must be a current (paid) member of WIMRA to participate in the election (either nominating or voting).

We are now accepting nominations for positions in the 2010 WIMRA Governing Council. The Governing Council is composed of representatives from each ISAF Region, with the exception of Europe which has two representatives (one representing the Scandinavian countries and one representing the rest of the region).

The Governing Council of WIMRA is defined below:

Members of the Governing Council will be responsible for the management and direction of WIMRA and encouraging and promoting amateur women’s match racing within their respective regions. Requirements to be a Representative of the Governing Council is to be a current member of WIMRA and a current competitor of women’s match racing (having competed in the current two-year period).

. Representative from Asia Region
. Representative from Central & South America Region
. Representative from Europe (Scandinavia) Region
. Representative from Europe (non-Scandinavia) Region
. Representative from North America & The Caribbean Region
. Representative from Oceania Region

If you are interested in volunteering to be on the Governing Council in your region, please send me an email (ExecDir@wimra.org) prior to the 1st of September 2010. If you are not interested, but would like to nominate someone else in your region, please send me their name and email address.
