CLAIRE LEROY WINS THE EUROPEAN WOMEN MATCH RACING CHAMPIONSHIP

After the good winds, the European Women Match Racing Championship finished in Club Nautico Punta Lagoa, Vigo, Spain.

The good tactic of the French team gave them the championship. Claire Leroy won the championship wining all the semifinals and finals she sailed.

The wind conditions for all the event were different each day, from 2-knots winds to 20. Finally the Race Committee chaired by the IRO João Allen, could made more than 75 matches instead the windshift winds of the second day.

The English Lucy MacGregor, number 73 in the ISAF Women Match Racing ranking, was in the second place of this European Championship.

Lotte Melgard Pedersen was in third place and the Swedish Anna Kjellberg was fourth.

It must be mentioned the good work of the Race Committee and the Umpires Team managed by Lorenz Walch.
