The sailors and Race Committee had their hands full with a long and shifty day on the race course for the second day of the 2010 Busan Cup Womens Match Race.
Nine flights were sailed with a westerly, easterly, northerly breeze - at times all in the same race! It was less shifty in the afternoon, but no less trying for the competitors as upsets were abundant with passes happening right on the finish line in the shifty breeze.
Claire Leroy (FRA) leads the way with a 8-0 record with 3 matches remaining in the round robin tomorrow. The young Russian skipper from Vladivostok, Ekaterina Kutovaya had an impressive day with a 3-2 record including a win over Lucy Macgregor (GBR).
The top eight teams will go into the Quarter-Final knock out series - at this point the top 8 have been decided and all that remains is to sort out the seeding of that series: 8 vs 1, 5 vs 4, 6 vs 3, 7 vs 2.
