Six Womens Match Racing events were sailed at six different venues across the globe culminating in the final event in Kiel, Germany. As was the case in 2010, the competition was intense at all of the events which was evident by the fact that all six events were won by six different teams. This continues to show the depth in the field of this exciting Olympic sailing event.
After sailing at five ISAF Sailing World Cup Regattas Anna Tunnicliffe (USA) comfortably won the Womens Match Racing title following her fifth place finish at Kieler-Woche. With 91 points Tunnicliffe took the title ahead of Silja Lehtinen (FIN), second on 76 points, and Sally Barkow (USA), third on 75 points.
