Team Ginga (witch is a move of Capoeira - a traditional mix of fight and dance of Brasil) was put together in 2004 after match racing gained more space in the sailing scene in Brasil and we started to compete in international events in 2005.

QUESTION: Do you have any nicknames?
ANSWER: Yes, for your surprise … Carol!

QUESTION: Are you superstitious?
ANSWER: I used to be very superstitious, but I’m not anymore. I believe in hard work and from time to time in luck.

QUESTION: If you were a dog, what kind of dog would you be?
ANSWER: A poodle like mine (Skipper) - very cute and smart and not loud as mostly poodles are.

QUESTION: Favorite part of match racing?
ANSWER: As the majority of the skippers: pre starts.

QUESTION: Name your dream team and who you would like to be racing against in a final series?
ANSWER: Andrea Grael, Claudia Swan, Isabel Ficker, Kyra Penido, Larissa Juk, Laura Zanni, Roberta Borges, Odile Ginaid… can´t tell a smaller team cause they are all really good friends and crew.

About who I would like to be sailing in a final… I think Claire Leroy even though to choose her as an opponent would not be a very clever idea!

QUESTION: Who has had the most influence on your life?
ANSWER: My father.

QUESTION: Who is your biggest fan?
ANSWER: That would be my mother.

QUESTION: Who is your sailing idol?
ANSWER: Andrea’s husband, Torben Grael. I was lucky enough to sail with him for a year in the Match Race Brasil series in 2004 and that’s what made me start match racing with my own team.

QUESTION: If you were going to create a reality TV show what would it be about?
ANSWER: I don’t know what it would be but something about sailing and medicine… for the most people that would be a strange mix.

QUESTION: If you were a superhero, what power would you have?
ANSWER: To heal.

QUESTION: What was your best subject in school?
ANSWER: Science.

QUESTION: Who taught you to sail and how old were you?
ANSWER: A guy named Marcelo 17 years ago in a sailing school in Niteroi, where I live.

QUESTION: What is your favorite ride at an amusement park?
ANSWER: Roller-coaster, for sure.

QUESTION: What is your most annoying habit?
ANSWER: I am very punctual and don’t have patience in waiting…

QUESTION: Besides sailing what is your favorite sport?
ANSWER: Tennis.

QUESTION: What is the best thing about your home town?
ANSWER: The beaches.

QUESTION: If you could travel to anywhere in the world where would it be?
ANSWER: I think I would like to come back to the north of France to know it better. It is really beautiful.

QUESTION: What is the most important item in your ditty bag?
ANSWER: Chocolate and diet coke.

QUESTION: What is one thing that you feel WIMRA could do for you?
ANSWER: I think that keep doing what it is doing already, everybody is working very hard to make women’s match racing look as fun as it is for us to sail!
